Court rejects Katsav lawyers' request to quit rape trial
Attorneys had claimed unable to meet 4-day a week schedule due to other commitments.
The Tel Aviv District Court has turned down the request of former president Moshe Katsav's attorneys to withdraw from representing him in his sex crimes trial.
The court ordered attorneys Avigdor Feldman, Zion Amir and Avraham Lavie to continue to represent Katsav, although they had claimed they were unable to meet the 4-day a week schedule of sessions in the case due to other commitments.
The judges told them that the law states the trial's evidentiary stage must be conducted day after day, and even if the law was not always kept, it was still the law.
