British Muslims slam U.K. pledge to end arrest threats against Israelis
Pledge came after Livni arrest warrent; Muslim Council of Britain: Move was 'manifestly partisan.'

The Muslim Council of Britain said it was deeply disappointed that foreign minister David Miliband promised to change the law so that judges could no longer issue secret arrest warrants against Israeli officials or military officers, saying the move was biased toward Israel.
You appear to be committing the government to the path of selective compliance with the enforcement of international law, the council's Secretary General Muhammad Abdul Bari wrote in a letter to Miliband. This is surely not in the best interests of our country as it will add a further dimension to the double standards that our government is seen to have in relation to the politics of the Middle East.
Israelis were outraged and British government officials were embarrassed when it emerged last week that a London judge had issued an arrest warrant for former Israeli foreign minister Tzipi Livni, who had been due to visit Britain earlier this month.
The warrant was later withdrawn when it became clear Livni would not come to the country, but the matter badly strained relations between Britain and the Jewish state.
Last week Israeli President Shimon Peres demanded that Britain change the law. The British promised they would fix this and it is time that they do so, he said.
Miliband has said that the British government is determined to put an end the threat of arrest hanging over officials of Livni's stature, explaining that Israeli leaders needed to be able to travel freely to Britain if U.K.-Israeli relations were to endure.
The Muslim Council urged Miliband to reconsider.
Justice and fairness is not served by being or by being seen to be partisan and compliant to demands made by one major player in the conflict, it said.
Calls seeking comment from Britain's Foreign Office and its Ministry of Justice were not immediately returned.

According to the paper, Britain's attorney general will be asked to approve warrants before suspected war criminals can be arrested in future, under a plan being negotiated by the Foreign Office in response to the row over attempts to arrest Livni.

Just since Sept 11 2001, Moslems have killed more of each other than have died at the hands of the IDF for the same period of time. I would not be surprised if more Moslems have been killed by other Moslems even since after 1948.
The MCB represents Muslim immigrants who are not loyal to Britain. The British government needs to explain to the MCB that the UK is not a colony of the Islamic Empire.

Livni worked diligently negotiating with Abbas, while Hamas fired 7,000 missiles into Israel. When Cast Lead began, Hamas was clealy blamed by Abbas, Mubarak, Abdulah and other Arab leaders for causing its own problems. Olmert and Livni showed years of painful restraint, much longer than could reasonably be expected !

What you don't seem to understand is that the members of the Muslim Council of Britain are all UK citizens, which gives them every right to comment on UK government actions and policies. They have far more right to do so than some puffed-up little Israeli president has to make demands on us.
The law is there to catch war criminals. Milliband seems to be attemtping to make decisions to prosecute war criminals into political decisions - as in we'll only prosecute war criminals the government doesn't like, while war criminals the government does like will be OK. If they can do that without changing the law, they might just get away with it. If they have to change the law to do so, and I suspect they would, I doubt it will happen. I can't really see Milliband and Brown standing up and trying to explain to a sceptical House of Commons that the government should be trusted on deciding who's a war criminal instead of judges. For some reason, Milliband and Brown have decided to suck up to Israel. I'm not sure why, whether it's for pro-Israel labour donors, or because they're afraid of prosecutio themselves, or because they think they need to keep Israel sweet to maintain UK influence in peace negotiations. Suspected Israeli war criminals will probably still be arrested.

Muslims will never make peace with Israel until Israel is destroyed. Muslims are the MOST INTOLERANT of all religious peoples. Look how Muslims treat minorities in Muslim states, and don't try to convert to a different religion anybody in a Muslim state, that is a death penalty offense. Islam is incompatible with western style democracy. Women and minorities have no rights. Muslims are not ready to accept equality and democracy. Being gay, or a transgender, or advocating gay marriage is all illegal in Muslim lands. We have lots of immigrants in California. We don't try to kill them. It is easy to coexist. If British muslims are "slamming" our governments decision to change the law then it must be a good decision. I have a lot of sympathy for muslims in the UK, they are indeed a minority and get a rough deal, suffering racism and harassment etc. But when I saw the protestors in January screaming racist slogans and burning the star of david, amongst many other things, and now this. Of course islam is just a faith like any other but when it comes to opinions on Israel- the jewish state, the so called "divide" between "moderate" and "extreme" muslims is hard to discern.

Some people who were Muslims were killed in Gaza because Gaza is a heavily populated area and their government is at war with Israel and were in the process of sponsoring rocket attacks on Israel.
