Bosnia's Foreign Minister phoned his Israeli counterpart Avigdor Lieberman Thursday evening to decry the latter's public suggestion that Bosnia is a potential breeding ground for terrorists.

Sven Alkalaj said in a statement Thursday that such claims hurt Bosnia's international reputation.

Lieberman said on Tuesday that he had intelligence indicating that the Balkan region is the next destination for al-Qaida and other Islamic extremist groups to set up operations and pointed to areas populated by Bosnians and Albanians.

Lieberman's remarks enjoyed wide coverage in many Balkan countries such as Macedonia, Bulgaria and Bosnia. On Wednesday, several Israeli ambassadors to Balkan nations were summoned to clarify Lieberman's remarks.

Alkalaj said the Bosnian intelligence service and international organizations say there are no terrorist training camps and no terrorist cells in Bosnia-Herzegovina. He asked Lieberman to share any credible information.

Such declaration for Albanians is a total ingratitude from Israelis foreign minister. He must remember that during WW2, the Albanians where one of few nations who protected the Jews with their own life. The number of Jews in Albania increased at the end of the war like no other country in Europe.
