Bnei Brak infant sustains moderate burns; parents refuse treatment
Infant was apparently burned while being bathed by parents, removed from apartment after police called to the scene.
By Roni Singer Heruti Tags: Magen David AdomA Bnei Brak infant sustained second-degree burns Tuesday afternoon, apparently while he was being bathed by his parents ? who subsequently refused to allow a Magen David Adom emergency medical team to treat the 14-month old.
MDA paramedics who were called to the scene were surrounded by residents of the religious town, who tried to prevent them from entering the apartment.
Once the paramedics were inside the apartment, the parents refused to allow the infant to be treated, and even refused to accept painkillers for the child.
The MDA team was forced to call the police, and with the assistance of the officers removed the infant from the apartment. The child's mother was eventually convinced to accompany her son to Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer.

They were probably afraid that the parents would be blamed and child services would be called in. It's not that they didn't want medical attention, they didn't want attention. The chareidi world does fear government intrusion.
Unfortunately many MIDDLE EAST PEOPLE that utter words from their mouths beleive sincerely they are saying the TRUTH. The Parents behaviour borders on criminality. HAARETZ also should take a stance -not just print innocently an article. Noam.
No-one is more suspicious of HaAretz than me, we all know what crap appears on these pages if it concerns religious or right-wing Jews. But incidents like this are not uncommon, and anyone who has medical or health related experience in Israel will tell you that certain groups often make their own lives very difficult because of their beliefs and preconceived ideas. Hope the baby is better. Test water with elbow next time!
