Assailants set fire to home of alleged child slayers
Following arrest of their twin sons' family receives fears retribution and abandons home.
Unknown assailants attempted on Wednesday to set fire to the Sudmi family household, whose twin sons are suspected of murdering a 7-year-old boy last week.
The family's neighbor said several people tried to set the fence surrounding the house on fire, but he extinguished the flames on time.
The twins are suspected of sexually assaulting Leon Kalantarov of Ashdod, who was reported missing last Thursday, and strangling him to death. His body was found in their room before dawn on Friday. Twins Naor and Adir Sudmi have denied any wrongdoing.
Earlier this week the Sudmi family moved out of their home just south of Rehovot saying they feared retribution for the killing.
The father of twins Naor and Adir Sudmi, who are in their 20s, has said police warned the family of possible reprisal assaults.
The Sudmi family said vandals have previously attempted to damage their Bnei Ayish home.
However, a neighbor said the twins' parents and sister moved away because of a sense of shame.
The court has imposed a gag order on details from the ongoing investigation.
