An Arab man posing as an Israel Defense Forces soldier was detained on Wednesday in Jerusalem, Army Radio reported.

Border Police officers arrested the suspect close to the President's Residence in the city. It emerged that the suspect had slept at a construction site nearby, and that another set of IDF uniforms was found as well as a toy gun and an apparently forged Israeli identity card.

Police became suspicious after he behaved strangely when they approached him and requested identification. He was interrogated by Jerusalem police in an attempt to establish whether he was engaged in criminal or terrorist activity.
