3 suspected of setting fire to Bnei Brak police station in revenge attack
The three men allegedly wanted to exact revenge on police for arresting them multiple times.
Three Bnei Brak residents are to be indicted on Sunday, after being arrested on suspicion of setting their local police station on fire.
The three men allegedly wanted to exact revenge on police for arresting them multiple times in connection with property damage, bribery and violent offenses.
Two weeks ago, police were called to the site of the Bnei Brak police station after being notified of an attempt to set it ablaze. Firefighters arrived at the scene and found the station door on fire, but quickly contained it.
Police assigned a special unit to investigate the incident, which was partly recorded police station security cameras. That footage, along with other testimony, led to the arrest of the three.
The investigation revealed that the three suspects perpetrated the act solely out of hatred for the police and out of a desire to exact revenge," said police superintendent Ronen Hachmon.
