Fifteen people have been arrested on suspicion of fraudulently extracting millions of shekels from the National Insurance Institute and insurance companies. Among the suspects are several high-ranking doctors.

Among those detained for questioning are a resident of Kfar Saba and a resident of Rishon Letzion, who are suspected of having staged car accidents order to claim insurance money.

They are also suspected of having bribed doctors to receive falsified medical documents.

The doctors under arrest include several psychologists suspected of writing detailed opinions on supposed accident victims whom they did not know.

Sources from the Police Economic Crimes unit said more suspects are likely to be detained in the case.
