15 under arrest for extracting millions in false insurance claims
Suspects include high-ranking doctors who allegedly accepted bribes and falsified medical doctors.
By Haaretz Service Tags: Israel policeFifteen people have been arrested on suspicion of fraudulently extracting millions of shekels from the National Insurance Institute and insurance companies. Among the suspects are several high-ranking doctors.
Among those detained for questioning are a resident of Kfar Saba and a resident of Rishon Letzion, who are suspected of having staged car accidents order to claim insurance money.
They are also suspected of having bribed doctors to receive falsified medical documents.
The doctors under arrest include several psychologists suspected of writing detailed opinions on supposed accident victims whom they did not know.
Sources from the Police Economic Crimes unit said more suspects are likely to be detained in the case.

This was a "Law and Order" episode, with doctors, lawyers, insurance agents and the works. How pathetic that these guys emulate the criminals on a TV show, eh?
