The U.S. failed their faithful ally. Our government should have anticipated that the IDF would need extra food supplies. How could our leaders have overlooked this matter? Why did they not arrange earlier to send huge shipments of food? You can't spread democracy throughout the ME with armaments alone.

my friends who have been drafted into the army and had to leave their jobs and families have told me that they have not been trained properly and do not have night vision equipment or proper weapons. we all suspect the israeli government. we all known reservists have been drafted up and thrown into suicide missions. now the goevrnment has surrendered for us.

IDF fails to protect Israelis. They don?t know how to fight. The officers are building careers, studying for decades in the American military academies (living there with their families on our expense). It is not a war, the war finished this morning. The IDF is the occupying army. As such it should be providing food to civilians, not stealing it from them.

I agree its pathetic that such a renowned army has a logistical corps that can't supply the front line which is only minutes away by helicopter, but throughout history it's been OK to take what you want. I would ask the top brass if they can declare ANY of the food they find either kosher or indeed edible. Even processed food must be close to its 'use by' date after a month; any fresh stuff will have long since rotted. Perhaps the IDF rabbi could shed some light on the subject. IDF has already destroyed most of south Lebanon, now the needy soldiers steal food, next they rape the women. That's the way all the armies in history have behaved. Rape and loot, war is such fun.

The six day war put the Israeli army on the map as a factor to reckon with. When the dust will be settled over the Lebanon war of 2006, what will be remembered most, is that the IDF supremacy fantasy is over. The symbol which will stick in peolples'minds is that they can not even sort out the logistics to feed their troops.

They already took Arab land, so why not our food. When a government and its army are willing to displace civilians and take their land, taking their food becomes "morally justified". I do not believe Israelis have any respect towards the Arabs, and that is why they feel they can take what ever they please and feel moral about it.

This war was imposed to Israel . Now they some of the post call for the Bible and the morality and the shame. What sad irony!! IDF does not steal but it is getting its payback for this imposed war..The money spent into this war by Israel should be pay by Lebanon. Lebanese should not cry or complain but should continue to clam victory.

Running out to food? No problem! Just ask the US to send you a rush shipment along with those cluster bombs. Or just have the Israeli jets dump supplies out of leaflet planes. To save space, wrap sandwiches in your propaganda leaflets with silly caricatures of Nasrallah to keep the troops' spirits up.

We should probably sue Lebanon for not enforcing UN instructions and allowing their adopted terrorist darlings to destroy our north and target our civilians. Hizbulla and its supporters are the real thieves and murderers.
