The Israel national team won its third consecutive game last night, defeating a stubborn British team 86-82 in Tel Aviv in an exhibition tournament just one week before the start of EuroBasket 2011 qualifiers. Omri Casspi drew raves from the home crowd with his dominant play, scoring 27 points. Guy Pnini and Lior Eliyahu scored 10 points each, with the latter also dishing out nine assists. The game was tightly contested, but Casspi proved to be the difference. His performance seemed to validate his standing as a rising star in the NBA, something that gives the national team hope that he is capable of leading it far into the EuroBasket tournament.
