Six Israelis aim to break Guinness record by swimming from Cyprus to Israel

By Uri Talshir

Six Israelis led by a 65-year-old retired soldier set off on Monday for Limasol, Cyprus, where they will attempt to break the Guinness world record for longest group swim in open waters by stroking their way back to Herzliya. That would give them a mark of 380 kilometers or more, breaking the record of 366 kilometers set a half-year ago by six American swimmers.
