Steve Klein

Steven Klein joined Haaretz in 2004 and was appointed sports editor in 2008. An avid sports fan, he lived the motto "those who can't play, coach," when he became a little league coach in Jerusalem after making Aliyah in the early 1990s and eventually served three years as youth baseball commissioner.

 

 

A former teacher of Zionism and the history of the Arab-Israeli conflict and now a doctoral candidate in conflict management and negotiation at Bar-Ilan University , he also contributes occasionally to the opinion pages of Haaretz English Edition.

 

 

Splitting his childhood between Minnesota and North Carolina , Klein is a graduate of Duke University and received his Master's degree from Hebrew University in Jerusalem . He lives in Modi'in with his wife, Rivka, and two children.
