Mira Sucharov is Associate Professor of Political Science at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. A child of the 70s and 80s in two tight-knit Canadian Jewish communities, Mira wrestles with the link between tradition and contemporary values, between narratives and identity in the Israeli-Palestinian domain, and the nature of the Diaspora relationship with Israel. She is the author of The International Self: Psychoanalysis and the Search for Israeli-Palestinian Peace (SUNY Press), is a Provost Fellow at Carleton for outstanding teaching, and in 2010 received a Rockower Award for Excellence in Jewish Journalism. She is currently the country analyst for Israel, the West Bank and Gaza for Freedom House's annual Freedom in the World report.
