I met Zvi when I was a graduate student in Roman history 45 years ago. His sparkling personality, academic vision, intellectual liveliness, enthusism and erudition about history, and love of Israel will be very sorely missed. Although I have not had any contact with him for several decades, I feel that the world is a significantly emptier place with his passing.
