The Arab princes in the region (and this includes the Saudis) have one overriding interest right now which is very much in line with Israel's interest and that is: Regional stability, for without it, they will likely not retain their kingdoms. Previously Arab rulers were in the habit of distracting their citizens from their own woes by periodically inciting them with wars against Israel, but everyone can see that that strategy is dead. The Jordanians, to their credit were the first to give it up, by not participating in the 73 war, and by relinquishing any claims to the West Bank, which was very showed a good deal of foresight. If they are calling for a new regional strategy, they ought to be listened to.
