Zias has recently tried to overturn one of the greatest pieces of evidence supporting Josephus' account - the couple and child discovered in the bath house of the North Palace. His theory seems to be very weak and unconvincing. For years scholars have tried to discredit Josephus' account of the Jewish Wars but in fact quite alot of it has proved correct, so why not the description of the events that occurred at Masada? Josephus certainly had access to witnesses of those events in his own lifetime while under the protection of the Roman emperor.
