Even though most of the time I disagree with Haaretz's editorials and reporting, Zeev Schiff was a lucid, balanced military correspondent that, as Moshe Arens rightly notes, rose above partisan obligations. His sober, factual reporting will be sorely missed and it is unlikely that Haaretz will find someone of his caliber to step in.
