For argument, say the 3 million people living in the occupied lands only have 150 years of relatives who lived there in the most recent period. Further, lets agree that the Jews were driven out by the Romans and went on to live happily in many other countries and not so happily in others. You must agree that the Jews efforts to return to Israel prior to the 20th century were e half-hearted until the holocaust. You must also agree that when the UN created the modern state of Israel, there were several million people who, by your account had been living on the land for at least 150 years. Who has the greatest claim to the lalnd, those whose relatives were living there when the modern state of Israel was created or those whose relatives left 2000 years ago?
