I would have thought that with the withdrawals that Israel has been willing to do in the past - Sinai, Lebanon, Gaza - it would have been clear that Israel can and does withdraw from land when it makes sense to do so. I'll have you notice that both Sinai and Gaza had settlements that were withdrawn. The retarded idea that all that Israel cares about is expanding the land that it holds is a clear sign of your bias. As for 'pulling the plug'... It wouldn't help. If Israel thought it was getting military weaker compared to its enemies it would be more likely to go to war in order to keep its enemies from gaining superiority in the future. If the Arabs thought the Israelis were getting weaker they would be more likely to test Israel's strength. Basically, by making Israel weaker you are heavily increasing the chances for war. As far as the Americans are concerned a regional war is a scary scenario. The peace talks with the Palestinians is just a distraction. They act accordingly now and always have.
