1) The flotilla is primarily political, not economic. 2) A big part of Israel's strategy is specifically maintaining Gaza in a weak economic state. The psychology of Gazans does not permit, from the Israeli viewpoint, allowing prosperity. 3) The flotilla is not the problem, it is only one small sign of the problem. Those who organize the flotilla have far more creativity and alternatives for protest as long as the underlying problem of occupation remains. You can't play whackamole in this situation.
