As someone who made Aliyah in my 40s I can honestly say that leaving behind aging parents, parnasah, etc... are all things that we thought about. But rest assured, there is no other place for a committed, involved Jew to be. No one who davens daily and believes what he or she reads could choose any place other than Israel. Sorry, but your story sounds hollow to me. You didn't really want to be here or you would be here. Your loss.
