Funny- Hawking has no issue going to Iran, despite a hijab forced over the head of every woman there (including Bahais Christian and Zoroastrians): http://physicsbuzz.physicscentral.com/2007/04/stephen-hawking-to-travel-to-iran-for.html It's about the double standards that many radicals in Europe have for Israel. The middle east is not a sea of pure Muslims like the Europeans like to think. Palestinians aren't faultless innocents. And over 800,000 Jews fled from Iraq, Yemen and the middle east from Muslim persecution- Israel is 1/40th of the land lost by those who fled. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jewish_exodus_from_Arab_and_Muslim_countries Extreme Islamic factions (not all Muslims) have been violently and openly colonizing the middle east and Hamas and many Palestinian factions support it. It's a fact. The UN was created- and you can look this up, it is not hidden- to prevent the allies from another world war by creating stability. But it is inherently biased toward European stability with no other chief concerns. Israel was a great idea for Europeans when Europe needed to dump their Jews somewhere. Now to them it's an inconvenience since they need oil. Unsurprisingly, the UN that they control bashes Israel more than any other country while millions die elsewhere. The UN is just another arm of European control. Like how racist cops arrest blacks for crimes everyone commits, the UN's goal is to only punish crimes that Europeans are concerned with. It is not a balanced code of law, or else Iran, Russia, Egypt and many others would be singled out for their oppressive actions. It doesn't make Israel innocent but I don't see Hawking boycotting Iran, China or Russia.
