Democracy is a western invention built upon the foundations of Greek and Roman blueprints. Yes, it works in Europe and the United States but that doesn't mean that it works everywhere else, nor should it. There are dozens of autonomous peaceful nations that are NOT democratic. You can't force people to be democratic against their will, it is a guaranteed failure, much like the U.S. tried to do in Iraq and Afghanistan and failed. Living under a country that isn't a democracy is not a bad thing.
