Even Obama just last month re-emphasized the US recognizes israel as a Jewish State. Israel was explicitly defined as the "Jewish State" by the UN at the 1947 Partition. Israel's declaration of independence explicitly defines israel as the "Jewish State". The official name of Israel, "Medinat Yisroel" means "state of the Jewish People" in Hebrew. You have to admit that its slightly idiotic to claim that in diplomatically recognizing a nation, you - not they - get to define what kind of state it is. Right? No state (including Egypt and ordan) in recognizing Israel includes the disclaimer "...but not as a Jewish State", which the PA moronically thinks they can get away with - that would negate recognizing the country's independence in the first place. What's the definition of "Jewish"? That's Israel's problem, not yours. And not the PLO's. Recognition of Israel means recognizing it as it defines itself in its 1948 Declaration of Independence. Period.
