Yossi Beilin's grandfather, Yosef Bregman, was a prominent Russian Zionist who led the opposition to Herzl's proposal for Uganda as a (temporary) Jewish homeland based on the urgency following the Kishinev pogrom and the intransigence of the Ottoman empire on Zionism. By contrast, Yossi Beilin has repeatedly asserted that his grandfather should have supported Uganda as a Jewish homeland rather than Eretz Yisrael. Does any more need to be said about this guy? P.S. Beilin seems to have forgotten that Herzl's heart was always set on Eretz Israel as the ultimate and permanent Jewish homeland, and Herzl expressly requested in his will that the remains of himself and his family be transferred to Jerusalem once it could be secured.
