No Yonatan, "Jewish sovereignty over these parts of Jerusalem is a fact," is wholly incorrect. Israel has NO SOVEREIGNTY OUTSIDE ITS 1948 BORDERS!!! It has never claimed sovereignty outside these borders!!! It cannot claim sovereignty in E J'sem BECAUSE IT IS OCCUPIED TERRITORY!!! The only way it could GAIN sovereignty is with the formal consent of the civil power, the PA. It doesn't have that consent so cannot change the status of the territory!!! That goes for ALL the land inside Israel's (illegal) 'Greater Jerusalem' border of 1967 - Gilo, Giv'at HaMatos, Har Homa in OCCUPIED Bethlehem, Ramot Allon, Pisgat Ze'ev, Giv'at Ze'ev in OCCUPIED Ramallah, Ramat Shlomo, Ma'ale Dafna, French Hill in OCCUPIED E J'sem and so on. They are ALL illegal settlements on Palestinian land and Israel's only locus there is as an army of occupation - not the sovereign power. Sheesh!!! There's none so deaf as those that don't WANT to hear, Yonatan, playing at their make-believe games.
