Any pagan thing that does some good is actually something originally jewish that has been stolen by worldly-minded scoundrels from without or worse still from within the fold for purely mundane purposes. That was for instance the case with the Pythagoras doctrine, who stole their numerology wholesale from the Kabbalah as it was then known, and put it to the service of outrightly satanic interests. Yoga gymnastics as a bodily medicine was likewise taught by King Solomon and his numerous disciples, they are the real founders of most wisdom traditions now considered as oriental (most of buddhism and also of tantra hark back form him, as can be seen for instance in the Qoheleth and in the Song of Songs). The proof of what I am saying is that before Solomonic times there was no such thing as yoga as we know it in vedic India, they had actually a war-like religion quite like today's Islam. In the ancient Jewish tradition, all animals had a spiritual sense, even though the lion, the bull and the eagle were more noble than all the others, and to be imitated more than the others as carriers of the divine throne. Each virtue an animal would represent was to be augmented by imitating the posture of that animal. This teaching was more purely preserved in the Shivaite tradition of India, which is the least pagan and most monotheistic part of Hinduism (and most jewish-friendly, by the way).
