You can read about the attempt to put the Palestinian territories in Jordanian and Egyptian hands in Avi Shlaim's works "The Iron Wall" and "Collusion Across the Jordan". Shlaim is one of the most leftist historians you can find in Israel. Here you will see that Jordan refused to take back the West Bank. Even more obviously, you ignored the Oslo and Taba Accords, as well as Peace Now and Meretz which used to have very big followings until the last couple of years. Also, you can label Gaza whatever you want, but you cannot deny that Israel took every single settler and soldier out of there. Only the Qassams brought back the soldiers. Most glaringly of all, you ignored my first question: "...because if they were left on their own, they would simply fire missles into Israel all day?" "The occupation cannot be ended peacemeal" is your weakest statement and has no logic at all. If I owed you 10 dollars and I payed you 5, it would be a step towards paying you 10 dollars.
