...the difference this time is that this has already been widely reported elsewhere. It's as if Haaretz is deliberately misleading readers by not making clear who started the provocation and how. I also learned, and am troubled by Mike Huckabee apparently being on the side of the group the Temple Mount Faithful. I knew he was ate up with the "end time" nonsense but I didn't know he is one of those "Third Temple" literalists who believe they can just get rid of Al Aqsa then move in some new temple. I am appalled that the coverage of this in Israel is actually fueling the violence. By not telling the whole truth various news outlets including Haaretz are making it out like it was some grand Palestinian scheme - it turns out it was some fanatical group that would indeed threaten Al Aqsa mosque given half a chance being escorted by Israeli officials, not Abbas, not the PA, not Hamas, not "the Palestinians" - it was these "Temple Mount Faithful" people that sparked the trouble.
