    You can NOT use Iran under the Shah as evidence to Israel's once friendly relations with Iran. They had friendly relations with Iran only because the west told their little puppet the shah to play nice with Israel and the local Iranians had no say in the matter. In the end, Iran can not have been called Israel's ally, only the shah Its is the people who are important. If you are going to look at Iran and how things might have been you should look at the reign of Mosaddegh back in early 1950s... unlike the shah he was a democratically elected leader; and by that i mean no theocracy. Not sure how Iran would have handled israel with that democracy since it did not last very long before it was overthrown by the west to install their tyrannical puppet. Though I will mention that under his reign he did maintain trading and economic ties with Israel; so that's something...
