You can NOT use Iran under the Shah as evidence to Israel's once friendly relations with Iran. They had friendly relations with Iran only because the west told their little puppet the shah to play nice with Israel and the local Iranians had no say in the matter. In the end, Iran can not have been called Israel's ally, only the shah Its is the people who are important. If you are going to look at Iran and how things might have been you should look at the reign of Mosaddegh back in early 1950s... unlike the shah he was a democratically elected leader; and by that i mean no theocracy.
