Israel has practiced what is called a destructive policy, and oppression, not just of the people ,but also for the economy in the first place,as they estimate that lack of capability to earn a living, might force Palestinians to leave the land. Little do they care that the Palestinians have no where to go. What I found pathetic, is those fruits in the picture are most likely israeli products, I believe,as I don't think the West bank grows in quantities any pears or persimmons . And that is what Israel want to keep the Palestinians areas as a market for their surplus items that they don't need and can sell to the Palestinians for full value. I recall being in Gaza two years ago, and purchased would looked lie beautiful red apples. When we cut them open at my fathers house, the core of the apple was all brown and rotten. I opened another one and another one to find them the same. As they were not cheap $4.00 a kilo, I took them back to the vender, and showed them to him. His said; they are almost all like that ,that is what they send to us. Out of the ten apples I bought ,I found one good one ( I have pictures). When the Gazans were producing flowers, strawberries, for export. And the Israelis would tell the growers to bring their trucks loaded with the product that time is of the essence to its life, and keep the trucks on the border delaying them hour by hour ,so the product would expire and would not be exportable. Gaza did not compete with the israeli growers, that was just a plain act of evil people to inflict harm on the struggling Palestinians. Gaza used to be a major exporter of Citrus;Oranges ,Lemons and grapefruits. That industry is almost dead in Gaza.Israel bulldozed half of the trees, under the security BS. and placed impossible restriction on the others that were able to stay alive.
