With the Hamas recognition of Israel, today and the Israeli right to a state, it will be difficult for Clinton not to talk with the Unity Government. They may not yet have amended their charter. But Meshal is quoted in the NY Times “a Palestinian state in the 1967 lines with Jerusalem as its capital, without any settlements or settlers, not an inch of land swaps and respecting the right of return.” Now Bibi needs new preconditions. Or maybe he should negotiate with Abbas since Hamas won't be part of the cabinet or part of the PLO negotiating team. This would, of course require that Netanyahu recognize a Palestinian right to exist. Is the current Israeli gov up to that?
