    You sound very reasonable .. but I feel you miss something important: 1)Jew are not just a Religion.. they are a People. 2) Isarel has been set up in part as a refuge of last resort to avoid the repetition of the tragic episodes ( exceding by far in nuber and destruction) that the jewish people have suffere trough hystory! That is why a Jewish state is needed, which should o course mede compatible with democtaric principles that do not put any group living there in a second class status. The way to do it is to assign it a territory where there are a mayority of Jews. 4) Many Jews have never seen Isarel, they are decendents of those expeled from their land by a colonial empire : Te Roman Empire. Simmilarlly many of the paletinians that want the right of ``return" have never been in Isdarel, they have been born outside! 5) Hystory is filled with population exchanges, such as the one that ocurred in the Partition India/Paquistan. Why you must singling out Isarel?
