I am not going to attempt a contradiction of the eminent philosopher's pronouncement but would merely indicate that of all the great minds in and of history, very few if any have what might be called a grounding in basic common sense; the comments of Wieseltier bear this out. He answers himself when the point is made that the so called Palestinians themselves caused the resignation of their most capable recent prime minister Fayyad. Is this the fault of the Jews of Israel? I think not. the cause is as always the brutal intransigence of the mob led by their equally self serving leaders. Peace is not on the agenda with these people but the prolonging of a conflict that lines the pockets of the few and the rest are just fodder. The whole Arab world recognizes this but find it a useful tool for their own narrow sectarian ambitions. When listening to the so called intellectuals please take their pronouncements with a very large tablespoon of salt and try not to gag.
