The fact is that the Russians in Israel are not the most well to do citizens. At best, they are middle class (except for some tycoons who imported their wealth from Russia). Why did Lieberman object to changes in the tax code designed to help the middle class? Very strange, but here is a plausible answer and it is not because he was not consulted. Indeed, he Lieberman showed animosity to the social protest from its very beginning! The real reason may be that Lieberman believes every one can become rich like himself and the State needs not help the citizen. The basic flaw in this thinking for regular Israelis: People tend to be law abiding, unlike Russians who were trained to steal from and cheat the State. Also, not everyone knows influential tycoons worldwide who might help in getting business opportunities. Another Lieberman mistake is calling the social demonstrators "shouters for hire". People don't do that in the West, because the pay is too little. In the USSR, there was no pay but the regime forced people to go out and demonstrate. It is not easy to change your culture and way of thinking. On the other hand, it is much tougher for the regular citizens to absorb such immigrants.

Sara Netanyahu's house of horrors

People who have the misfortune to work in the Prime Minister’s Residence live in a milieu of terror in its classic sense: a place in which fear and dread are imposed by means of violence, force and threats. This has now been established by a court ruling.
