Virtually all religions have adherents who choose to live and worship according to the precepts laid down in their original scriptures and others who have found that their religion has more "validity" for them if its teachings are applied to life as it is today. The wall should be one of the most important sites in Israel for all Jews, no sub-group is entitled to try and monopolise it as their own. I first visited the wall in 1969 and was so proud to do so. It was now part of Israel because Israel had won a war that threatened its very survival. Now - to be honest I prefer not to go. It no longer feels to me like a place where all Jews are treated as equal.
