If it is too much for the IDF now to take on Gaza and Syria, what happens when Syria attacks after the Hamas/Fatah puts together a force of 60,000 with sufficient advanced weaponry from Iran and then as Israel is having a hard time attacks Southern Israel. This if true shows the strategic incompetance of IDF thinking. Note that all the exgeneral/politicians were excellent tacticians but lousy strategists. Witness,Barak and Sharon.This article suggests that the present military staff is continuing the previous tradition that led to the Lebanon 2 fiasco.There was a study that was started 6 months before the Lebanon War that claimed that part of the IDF's problem was the fact that none of the officers above Lt.Colonel had advanced military college training which is needed for an understanding of strategy.
