It's not as if even if the GA approves a Palestinian state, there will be one veto in the SC via the United States. So what's the problem, the status quo will remain. The UN is useless, there have been hundreds of resolutions passed against Israel, to no avail. Look, most of the world believes in the 2 state solution as fair, that is Israel must get out and not have any control on Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem and there should be a compromise on the refugee solution that is fair and practable for both sides. Problem is, Israel continues to destroy this possibility with settlements. Yeah, Israel can talk about all the firecrackers fired from Gaza, but let's be realistic. After the Oslo Peace Process was signed in 1993, in the 7 years ensuing from 93-2000, Israel doubled the settlement enterprise compared to the settlement enterprise of 1977-1992. Hardly, a showing that Israel really wanted peace, more like PIECE. It's all gonna come to one day the United States getting tired of having to come to Israel's aid like a bratty child and tell her to she's on her own.
