And consistently through three governments Israel has systematically refused to accept or compromise with that new path. For half a decade Israel has refused any serious negotiations or attempt at peace. Abbas has shown courage in moving Palestinians towards peace. Olmert and Netanyahu have shown that no government of Israel will work towards peace. These men were and are Israel's choice. Their actions have not harmed them or helped Israel. A few hundred thousand Settlers and Religious extremists control Israel.
