I can see the argument for Palestinians in the West bank, I cannot see it for Gaza. We should let hostile people into Israel? We are going to continue to be responsible for them after we withdraw? So why withdraw? What kind of "independent state" is it going to be where every single woe is blamed on Israel? We should have an open border with people who voted overwhelmingly for a party that is against compromise? People don't want to invest in Gaza because of it's government, they don't want to get sued when the Hamas government's military wing manages to kill someone with qassams or suicide bombings. They don't want the money to go towards Dahlan buying a new house or Suha's latest shopping spree. We made these promises as part of an agreement, which the Palestinians did not keep - remember peace, end to violence - ring a bell?
