    Look at his associates and friends -- some of the richest and most powerful people in Israel. He comes from this world. He didn't meet these people recently, he has always known them. It seems to me that he has been appointed to perpetuate the situation except in the case of the ultra-orthodox, who are an easy target anyway. His father was elected on a similar platform. If I recall correctly, he didn't achieve anything while in office and very quickly became Sharon's willing poodle. Let's hope I am wrong and that the platform Yair Lapid ran on is a reflection of his real beliefs and not just empty slogans to ensure that he and his friends get to keep the biggest share of the pie, while reserving economic reform for those that don't have much to share.
