I know Israel bills itself as a democracy, but they really have NOTHING in common with the US meaning of the word. They do not feel "ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL", they are "chosen" and better than everyone. They do not use due process with "suspected" militants and just murder them. They occupy Palestinian land, yet give them no rights such as the vote. They flagrantly violate UN resolutions calling on them to stop settlement expansion and return land to the Palestinians. They violate International law and the Geneva Conventions Article 4 by imposing collective punishment against the Palestinians and again now in Lebanon. They don't believe in separation of church and state, but insist on having a jewish majority rule, discriminating against christians and muslims. I can see why the US politicians are AFRAID of them, but why do ordinary citizens apparently look beyond all these unAMerican tendencies and give support to Israel? It is like indulging a spoiled child.
