Fighting has been going on for about a week. In similar circumstances -- even without the leaflets, and even phone calls -- civilians generally try to clear out of a combat zone. The people in Qana say they are too frightened to risk taking to the roads. But I've only heard of the IAF striking large trucks suspected of carrying missiles. Even in worse circumstances, civilians usually try to flee, even if they must try it at night. It's a puzzle why the civilians in Qana would risk themselves and their children. Could they desire to gain heaven by staying?
