why apologize? if you have never seen jews pray, as is probably the case on a flight to alaska, it might come across as ...scary. wrapping tefilin and boxes and shaking our heads up and down, and people are jittery in general about air travel, it looks objectively kind of strange to a plane full of non-jews who don't understand the rituals and customs. airline was just doing their job.
