While they pay lip service to the Muslim solidarity in regard to Iran, the Arab countries have not forgotten the past history of Persia. THe Arab like the Greeks and the the people from Central Asia have suffered from the Imperialistic nature of Iran-Persia. Just read the various missions of the Persian Empire throughout antiquities and before the advance of the Ottoman: always it was the Shat El Arab, or the Persian Golf that was one of the cebtral subterfuge for Persia to encroach on Arab territories. Far from satisfying the Israelis, the prospect of a nuclear Iran is of most central in the Tactical research to counter the Persian menace. Remember the last commentary by Mobarak of Egypt about the Iranian situation: "we should clear our neighborhood of any Nuclear arms". If, just if the conditions are proper for USA to interfere, and if, just if as well, Iran openly attacks Irak, ie increasing its intervention against the Allies and the Sunnies and the Kurds, the whole Arab world will be mobilised against Iran. I have a sneaky suspicion that the Arab nations are happy of the problems Iran creating for itsel, and wishe the West to reduce or illiminate the Iranian nuclear threat. Should such eventuality not come to be, the Arab peoples are going to have to take the matter in their own hands. Here we find a convergence of the Arabs with the West, which ultimately includes Israel. It is going to be a war pf attrition for a while, and like in such game someone is going to calculate right (or wron) and make the first move. I think that the Arabs are undergoing a series of allignment to decide to allign themselves with the West against Persia-Iran (remember Sparta and Athens the Great War against Persia, that elliminated the threat over the Greek Empires..).
