Do we the children and grand-children of the 60s' adults have a right to judge them? The world is a very different place today: the morals and our sense of "right and wrong" have been turned around completely! In those days the generally prevailing idea was that Israel was brutally attacked and Israel, with G-D on his side, won back the land that righteously belongs to the Jews. In those days people believed in G-D and Israel's birth was a Biblical fact coming true as expected and the land Israel won, was the natural course of G-D's plan for Israel shaping up. I was 30 years old as an 18 year of Israeli soldier said to me "G-D has nothing to do with it, the IDF is the strongest army in the world"! Those words marked the change of a new, more self-assured generation's perception of history. Instead of believing in G-D as I had grown up believing, this young generation that followed my generation "believed in themselves" as they boldly put it. Pride has replaced humility everywhere.
