The court system is the main loser. What brings close to 200,000 people onto the streets in a peaceful protest? The perception that when it comes to them the courts don't act fairly. The High Court of Justice had no authority to sanction the parents; they were not even parties to the case and therefore (by definition) could not have been in contempt of court. In the end the parents (Sephardim and Ashkanazim) were sent to prison for attempting to put their kids on buses and send them to schools that they proffered in a different city. If the High Court of Justice thinks that's a reasonable use of its powers then something is seriously wrong with it.
