The Goldstone report, prepared for an "international organization" that is virulently anti-Israeli, and despite its name, virulently selective in its vision of human rights abuses, that was prepared by a panel comprised of 5 individuals, 4 of whom were chronic critics of Israel? Why was the EU not insisting on a credible international presence. Anyway, if the EU sets up a credible international panel to examine the involvement of many of its states in the slaughter of innocents in Iraq and Afghanistan, maybe Israel follow. Of course, to some extent this is an apples and organges comparison. Israel is on less than friendly terms with countries that control a major portion of the supply of world energy. Europe has a sycophantish relationship with these countries, both because of their oil and because European countries now have substantial Islamic populations.
