There's a mechanism that tempers corporate overreach, restricts oligarchies' proclivities, and smooths wage gaps: trade unionism. It works (bumpily) in France, and it used to work in Israel. It can do so again, but the Histadrut has to climb down from its perch as a paid-up member of the monopoly club and do the hard thing: organize unstable masses of quasi-temps and flighty high-techies.
