And so it has been in the 60's,70's,80's90's and at present. You are like Cassandra predicting the impending doom but no one will listen. No one listened in the past and that is reflected by the electorate which consistently votes right over left. Israel's history shows it to be a country that has come to believe, it is ingrained in the national psyche, that only the military can defend the country from the dangers that confront it,that negotiations, diplomacy are suspect and begin from a position of weakness rather than strength. This is a learned pattern, hence the suspicion of the left by the majority of Israelis. The vision of the left has always been rejected by the majority, from the time of Buber and Reiness right up to Beilin, Aloni and Naomi Chazan.
